Cycle Shrimp®

Cycle Shrimp is a business-to-business supply chain program that credibly identifies environmentally preferable sources of farmed White Shrimp (Penaeus vannamei) in Thailand.

Cycle Shrimp are raised in closed recirculation systems and therefore have a better environmental performance than conventionally farmed shrimp.

By conducting an independent audit and certification at the farm level as well as along the supply chain, standard compliance, transparency and full traceability for all Cycle Shrimp products are ensured.

The Cycle Shrimp program serves as a stepping-stone towards sustainable shrimp aquaculture. It is designed for North American market actors that are interested in an environmentally preferable source of farmed shrimp.

Cycle Shrimp products are consistent with the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch® Program’s assessment for shrimp farmed in closed recirculation systems in Thailand. MBA ranks shrimp from this source as a “Good Alternative” seafood choice.
